A Precursor To Great Things
Oh boy, it's close. It's really, really close.
I've been trying to get this site up and running for eight months, see. Trying to put all the pieces together, and make everything work. And we're almost at the point where I'm willing to say "hey, it's working good enough. Time to start doing things with it."
It's about time, too. Eviscerati.net and Eviscerati.org have been, well, rather sadly neglected while I've labored over database oddities and Drupal add-ons and comic transcription modules and more mundane aspects of site maintenance, not to mention the arcane workings of email servers... (ack. Mail servers, how I hate thee.)
And while I've been doing these things the two "other" sites have been relegated to sitting around gathering dust. It was starting to look like a guy renovating an old house, concentrating on the main part of the building, while the two wings slowly succumbed to rain, wind, snow, and the occasional nest of squirrels.
But things are happening, and I'm pretty darn excited about that. You, of course, have no reason to be excited about it at all, my glee notwithstanding, and this post will be in no way helpful to you at all, since it is really nothing more than a long-winded, slightly ornate version of that classic standby, "Test Post."
P.S. Hey Technorati. I really do claim this site as my own, so please add it to my Technorati Profile.
Welcome to the RazorDome
Well, here we all are. I've struck out on my own, taken Ubersoft.net and Eviscerati.org and sort-of combined them, Frankenstein-like, into EvisceratiNet, the lumbering contraption of a site you see before you.
Currently the site is an inefficient mess: there are no less than three databases, each with separate logins, separate accounts, separate passwords, and so on. There is at the moment no way to share this information between them -- all attempts to do so have failed. The best solution, it seems, is to combine all three sites into a single database and move on from there, but that is going to take some doing... so for the immediate future this is going to be a piecemeal affair.
This page is the official news page for the site as a whole, and will be updated whenever I try something new, break something old, or accidentally flip a switch that causes the North American Power grid to collapse. I'm now solely responsible for the maintenance of my server, so I expect things will go wrong daily. It should be fun.
